With this application, you can chat while playing a video game. We all want to play with our friends because it is so much more fun to play with them.
With Discord, you can add your friends to your friend’s list and thus enjoy video games together. This friend list feature brings the old and familiar side of video games to Discord. You may never have had the urge to list all of your friends on a piece of paper, but Discord’s friend list has some awesome features. Instead of having to share a server with someone to send them a direct message (DM), or check their status, the friend’s list gives you direct access to it.
How to add a friend to the friend’s list?
- If you want to add your friend to your friend’s list, you have to follow these steps:
- To add a person to your friend’s list, open the general friend’s list by clicking the icon above the list of servers.
- Now, click on the button that says “Add Friend”.
- You will then see a small pop-up window with a text box, it looks like we show you below.

By username and tag or Discord tag
If you want to add a person based on their username, you can use the window that you will find in the friends list.
But, if you want to add your friend via the Discord Tag, you have to be sure of these three things.
- Full username.
- Character “#” .
- DiscordTag.
When you have finished this, you will receive a green message telling you that your request was successfully sent , or a red message telling you that something did not work. If the request was not submitted correctly, make sure you have done all the steps correctly.
By profile button
Another way to add your friend is by going to their profile to find the request to add directly to their profile.
- You have to right click on his avatar in the user list , or else in the chat window
- Now, click on the “Profile” button .
- Then you have to click on the big green button.

The easiest and simplest way to add your friend is that if you browse the context menu a bit, you will see the option to add your friend directly in the menu .
